AIRPORT SECURITY TRAINING

Flight security assistant according to German and European standards.

The training is based on the German and European regulation for flight safety assistants according to §5LuftSiG and EU VO 272 2009 and corresponds to the current safety and quality standards at European airports. In addition, the training was supplemented by the topic of quality & documentation as well as food, animals, plants and other objects for you. The topic Access Control is part of the standard training Flight Security Assistant but is marked here as an option, because it was not explicitly requested by you.
The training includes 140 hours (with optional access control + 20 hours) of theoretical and practical training and ends with a written and practical exam.

TRAINING CONTENTS

Legal Basics (8h)

  • General international law for airports
  • Internationally valid explosives and weapons law for airports

Security rules and emergency management at airports (12h)

  • Organization of security and emergency management
  • Emergencies: Fire, panic, medical emergencies, other threatening events
  • Taking Action: Behavior during emergencies, fires and evacuations
  • Security of travelers, baggage, cargo and hand luggage
  • Controls and their procedures at the airport
  • Safety rules electrical equipment, liquids, batteries and accumulators

Knowledge of explosives and weapons (12h)

  • Recognize thrusting, cutting and stabbing weapons
  • Recognize firearms and associated equipment
  • Recognize different types of explosives (commercial/noncommercial)
  • Recognize possible containers as well as homemade explosive devices
  • Handling of recognized weapons, explosives as well as dangerous objects and explosives
  • Smear test / wipe test

Other dangerous or prohibited articles, food, animals and plants (8h)

  • Import and export prohibitions of species-protected animals and plants
  • Import and export bans of foodstuffs / epidemic protection
  • Import and export bans of medicines/alcohol/intoxicants
  • Import and export bans of other dangerous or prohibited items
  • Behavior and measures in dealing with found objects, food, animals and plants

Carrying out checks on persons (20 h)

  • Basic principles for control procedures with regard to checks on persons and plausibility checks
  • Execution of person controls with security scanner (X-Ray)
  • Evaluation of people screening with security scanner (X-Ray)
  • Execution of manual person checks as well as hand probe checks
  • Plausibility checks
  • Behavior and measures in case of anomalies and deviations
  • Practical instruction at a control point

Image control and analysis of X-ray images of baggage (40h)

  • Design and function of X-ray inspection equipment
  • Safety regulations in handling X-ray screening equipment
  • Basic control procedures with regard to the use of X-ray and explosives detection equipment
  • Carrying out checks on items carried on board, baggage and hand luggage
  • Evaluation of X-ray images of carried objects, baggage and hand luggage
  • Behavior and measures in case of abnormalities and deviations
  • Manual control of carried objects, baggage and hand luggage
  • Practical instruction at a control point

Communication (20h)

  • Dealing with different groups of people
  • Conflicts and de-escalation
  • Dealing with and overcoming concrete conflict situations

Quality and documentation (20h)

  • Service and service at the airport
  • Quality management
  • Documentation and reporting

Access control (20h)

  • Security areas
  • Checks and random inspections of employees, suppliers and other authorized persons
